Gutters are one of the most neglected parts of the house, yet, they can lead to serious damage. Ignoring your gutters can cause leaks in your roof and ceiling, no one wants to be showering while they are lying in bed!
Neglecting your gutters is a very expensive mistake. Clogged gutters can cause damage to your roof, ceiling, driveway, insulation, and walls. If you don’t have them cleaned regularly then you will inevitably pay the price.
Our gutter cleaning process
While cleaning your gutters can be gross and rather frightening, it is certainly necessary, so, if you want to do it yourself, follow along.
The things you’ll need are:
- Rubber gloves
- Garbage Bags
- Ladder
- Bucket
- Garden hose long enough to reach the roof
Set up your ladder against your gutter, make sure it is secure, put on your gloves, and climb. Bring your bucket up with you and begin shovelling gutter contents into the bucket. Once you have cleared the area shift your ladder across and repeat. Continuously empty the bucket into your garbage bags so you don’t end up with a messy yard. Once the gutter is cleared, rinse the gutter out with your garden hose. If the water does not drain you will have to clear your downpipe.
